Itinerary Overview

Day 1: Transfer from Marrakech, Trek via Tizi Mazik to Tamsoult Refuge

• Morning:

  • Departure from Marrakech (8:00 AM) for a scenic drive to Imlil Valley (1,740 m), approximately 1.5 hours.

  • Meet your guide and muleteers in Imlil, then start your trek toward Tizi Mazik Pass.

• Trekking Details:

  • Distance: 9 km (approx. 5.6 miles)

  • Elevation Gain: 1,000 m

  • Duration: 5–6 hours

  • Difficulty: Moderate

• Midday:

  • Ascend to Tizi Mazik (2,500 m), offering breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys and peaks.

  • Enjoy a freshly prepared lunch at the pass, soaking in the tranquil mountain scenery.

• Afternoon:

  • Continue your descent through lush juniper forests and terraced farmland to the Tamsoult Refuge (2,250 m).

• Evening:

  • Dinner and overnight stay at Tamsoult Refuge.

Day 2: Tamsoult to Toubkal Refuge via Ighouliden Waterfalls and Tizi n’Aguelzim

• Morning:

  • After breakfast, start the trek toward the Ighouliden Waterfalls, a hidden gem cascading down the rugged cliffs.

  • Continue your ascent to Tizi n’Aguelzim (3,560 m), a challenging pass offering panoramic views of the Atlas Mountains.

• Trekking Details:

  • Distance: 11 km (approx. 6.8 miles)

  • Elevation Gain: 1,310 m

  • Elevation Loss: 300 m

  • Duration: 6–7 hours

    • Distance: 4 km (approx. 2.5 miles) to the summit

    • Elevation Gain: 960 m

  • Continue descending to Imlil.

  • Transfer back to Marrakech, arriving by late afternoon.
